For the best Midlife crisis ever ….
…LUC: Working as an Aeronautical engineer in the Middle East , use to explore his entire 40 years with Helicopter flying , Hot Air Ballooning , Skydiving , Paragliding , Kayaking , Open water Diving , Endurance sports ….. What really attracts him are the extremes - as in the Olympic motto : always Higher , Faster , Longer , … and Bolder !
"My persistence and determination is what separates me from every other dreamer. Each human being has the dream that is right for him. I want a life that punches back. I want to discover, to experiment, to go on ahead of the pack, but realistically.
I am also pugnacious, stubborn and an incurable optimist. And I surround myself with competent experts in areas where I have no special training. People around me add skills that I did not acquire.
Thanks to the sport I have come across some truly remarkable people, some of them outstanding because of their talent and their pioneering spirit and many of them special because they are great people. One thing about me is that I focus when I listen, and I usually learn fast. Above all else, I believe in my lucky star, in bravery and personal commitment."
For him sky is not the limit, but the ground is. Being a Helicopter pilot in the 90's and whose hobby is to plummet from an aircraft 14,000 feet above the ground defies logic as breaking away from the clutches of gravity and soaring into the skies has always represented the ultimate freedom for man. Passionate about journeys and ballooning, he has combined the two by going on many flights with Hot Air Balloons. After having achieved the first flight over Portugal, he has been involved with flights in Europe and Brazil , and realised very quickly that Hot Air Balloons are a marvellous engine for discovery and a fantastic cinematographic tool.
there is that oft quoted lao tzu expression that says, 'the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'
